DAAR is pleased to recognize the 2009 Honor Society Class. Come celebrate with them as they are inducted at a reception to be held on Wednesday, March 24th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the DAAR office. Beer, wine, sodas, and hors d'oeuvres will be served. There is no charge to attend. The event runs from 5-6:30pm and a $10 ticket admits 4 people, including skate rentals. Each ticket also gets you one entry into the prize raffle of your choice! The proceeds from this event will benefit The Good Shepherd Alliance for the Loudoun Homeless and the Loudoun Abused Womens and Childrens Shelter. Loudoun Market Watch: Blizzards and Low Inventory Dampen Sales

Preliminary February results are in; the blizzards that bombarded Loudoun in February had a considerable negative impact on existing home sales activity. The blizzards were partially to blame for the total sales decline in February to 242 units from January's revised but still low total of 262 units (-7.6 percent month-over-month).

Special Meeting for DAAR Members: Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Amendments - Friday, April 9th, 2010, 10:00-12:00 p.m.

The Loudoun County Board of supervisors (LCBOS) is moving forward with a proposal to implement the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act this year. The amendments require that property owners protect perennial streams and non-tidal wetlands contiguous to other water bodies by imposing a 100-foot management buffer or setback from all bodies of water.

On Wednesday, February 17th, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted to enact the Limestone Overlay District which alters the way property owners use their land on over 14,000 areas north and south of Leesburg.
